Paste copy and get a number from 0 to 100. Under 65 would trip a detector. 85 and up reads like a person wrote it. You also get the specific tells that tripped, so you know what to fix even if you never use the rest of Handpenned.

What the number is

Two signals today. First, the machine tells: the phrases, the lists of three, the sentences that are all the same length, the em dashes, the closing line that repeats the paragraph. Second, predictability: how easily a language model guesses each next word, which for machine text is very easily. A third signal, a classifier we train on business copy, lands next and tightens the number.

We do not claim a score from GPTZero, Originality, or Copyleaks. Once a week we run a sample through their paid services and publish how our number tracks theirs, with the date. Until that page exists, this number is ours and we say so.

Ten checks an hour per visitor. Nothing you paste is stored; a fingerprint of the text is, so the same page scored twice counts once.
