What Handpenned is

Handpenned rewrites text you give it so that it reads as a person wrote it, scores it against our own AI-text detector, and checks that the facts in your draft survive the rewrite. It is a tool. You are the author of what you publish.

Your account

Accounts are invite only for now. Keep your password to yourself and turn on two-factor authentication. You are responsible for what happens under your login. One person per account.

Your text

You keep every right to the text you paste in and the text you get back. You confirm you have the right to use the text you submit. We do not claim ownership of any of it and do not use it to train models.

What we do not promise

AI detectors change. A clean score today is not a guarantee against a detector updated next month. We calibrate ours weekly against the commercial ones and show you how it tracks, and that is the extent of the promise. We do not promise search rankings. We say the vendor watermark cannot be present because every output word is chosen by an open-weight model with no key to apply; until the detection service Anthropic runs is open to us, that is a structural claim and not a measured one, and we say so.

The fact lock checks numbers, dates, names, phone numbers, email addresses, and web addresses. It is code, and it is strict, but you should still read the output before you publish it. If it flags a paragraph as needing a human, it means that.

Acceptable use

Do not use Handpenned to produce text that defames, deceives, or breaks the law. Do not use it to pass off work as your own where the rules you are under forbid AI assistance, such as coursework that prohibits it. Do not try to break in, scrape, or overload the service. We close accounts that do.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service up and will tell you about planned changes, but it is provided as is, and we may change or end features. If we ever end the service you will get notice and time to download your work.

Liability

To the extent Texas law allows, Mako Logics LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of Handpenned, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Texas.
